I saw 3 vehicles there 2 days ago- one was a home inspector's truck. I think there may be an offer that was accepted and is in the works.

Bob will be in court today to enter a plea in connection with all the charges against him. Click on Detroit said on the morning broadcast today that it is a 1 pm arraignment, but the newspaper says it is at 130 pm, so if you don't want to miss it, start checking at 1 pm. Click on Detroit said that they will live stream it at 1 pm.

Bashara has been moved to Cotton Correctional Facility in Jackson MI, 75 miles west of Detroit. Looks like there will be a live appearance in court today, not closed circuit tv.

I did see Kreiger there ahead of time -- maybe just to sign off on the whole mess. Who knows. I don't understand why Bashara didn't do the pleading of not guilty himself. Is that something that they know he has decided on ahead of time - and then simply reinstate that to him?

I was thinking that too... The judge did that for each defendant that she arraigned. No wonder there are so many cases on the books!

What happens if BB arrives next week for the preliminary hearing still without an attorney? Can the judge proceed with the hearing even if he doesn't have one? Sleuthing around the internet, there are some cases where that has happened, but some sites argue that it's not allowed. No clear picture.

It would seem like a colossal waste of time and money to have the whole show ready to go (including bringing witnesses in from afar) just to have it postponed until an attorney is found.

It takes some time to be approved for a public defender --- obviously he earns no income in prison, but his rental properties throw off some income. The court can order him to sell those properties, but that could take some time.

Heard through the grapevine, and by searching public docs, that he was trying to sell it during the redemption period, as it is in foreclosure. It's a stretch, at best, to think he could get it done in time, and that there would be any money left, and that he would be allowed to keep that money since he owes so many people so much money. INDIGENT! (oh, and I don't think that the existence of a trust has been confirmed... but idk for sure...)
